Apple expands App store price points for all app purchases

App store awards

Apple unveiled a major upgrade to the App Store’s pricing system in December, offering additional price points and new tools for managing storefronts – and now, these are available for all types of apps and in-app purchases, from paid apps to one-time purchases.

Apple has expanded App Store pricing upgrades to all purchase types, providing more flexible price points with nearly 10x the number of options previously available, enhanced global pricing for more relevant costs, and the ability to set base prices and availability by storefront.

  • Flexible price points: Choose from 900 price points, increasing incrementally up to $50. Offers a range of payment options, from $0.10 to $10, and $0.50 up to $50, and so on.
  • Enhanced global pricing: Offer prices following the most common conventions in each region or country.
  • Base price options: Set prices for 174 storefronts and 43 currencies for paid apps and one‑time in‑app purchases.
  • Regional availability: Define availability of in‑app purchases by storefront.
Enhanced global pricing updates in May

Apple’s global equalization tools allow you to easily manage prices across international markets. On May 9, 2023, prices for existing apps and in-app purchases will be updated to take advantage of the enhanced global pricing, using publicly available exchange rate information and the most common conventions in each country or region.

You can update these prices using App Store Connect or the API, or allow Apple to update them for you using your current US price as the basis. If you’d like a different price to be used, you can update the base country or region, or manually manage prices on storefronts of your choice.
