Jabra has been a leader in audio products for a long time now, for both casual listening and for office spaces. Among the former, the Elite series of headphones and earphones have a strong reputation for quality, both in materials and audio fidelity. The Elite Active 75t is their highest-end truly wireless earbuds, replacing the well-reviewed 65t, designed for listening to music during the gym, when working out and for those with a more active lifestyle. With a price tag of 15,499, it is cheaper than other workout focused earbuds like the Bose SoundSport Free and the Beats Powerbeats Pro, but what compromises did Jabra make? Read on in my review.

Amazon has announced refreshes to their Echo line of smart speakers with the launch of the Echo (4th Gen), Echo Dot (4th Gen) and the Echo Dot (4th Gen) with clock. They all have design refreshes in a new spherical shape, improved sound quality and bass, a tap-to-snooze feature and a Low Power Mode for power savings.
Sony has announced the new WF-H800 truly wireless earbuds, which is part their h.ear range of products. They feature Sony’s signature Tri-hold structure, Sony’s Digital Sound Enhancement Engine HX technology, long battery life, automatic pause/play and more.

Jabra has announced their next generation truly wireless earphones, the Elite 85t. This time, it features their Advanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with a new Semi-open design, enhanced call quality with a 6 microphone setup and support for Qi-wireless charging.
The Elite 85t have new 12mm drivers that are designed for powerful bass, all housed in a new semi-open earphone that ensure comfort and relieve ear pressure. The earbuds have oval silicon EarGels do not go in as deep as before, providing a more comfortable experience while feeling secure.
It has dual dedicated ANC chips for Jabra’s Advanced ANC technology, enabling strong ANC capabilities with minimal processing. Similar to the 75t, it will also support Hear Through mode to let users hear their surroundings if they wish to. The new 6 microphone system have improved noise cancellation and wind protection for clearer calls.
As usual, the earbuds are IPX4 certified, and the battery life is rated at 5.5 hours of listening time with ANC ON, and a total of 25 hours with the Qi-wireless capable charging case. It comes in four colour combinations – Gold/Beige, Copper/Black, Black and Grey and Titanium/Black.
Jabra has also announced that its Elite 75t series will be getting a free OTA update that will enable active noise cancellation. The Elite 85t will go on sale for a price of $229 (Approx. Rs. 16,826) from November 2020 for the Titanium/Black version and January 2021 for the rest of the colours.
Anker, popular for its accessories has launched its 10W Wireless Charging Pad ‘PowerWave Base Pad’ in India. It is compatible with all Qi-enabled devices including iPhone 11, Samsung Galaxy S10, and AirPods wireless charging cases. It has slimline rectangular design and non-slip pad on the bottom. Panasonic, a leader in consumer audio electronics, has announced the launch of 5 new headphones, including both wired and wireless, in India. These are part of Panasonic’s Athleisure and the Retro series, namely the the HTX90N, HTX20B, NJ310B, TCM130 and TCM55, and they range in price from Rs. 899 to Rs. 14999.
Along with the new phones, HMD Global also introduced its latest Power Earbuds Lite, a smaller version of the Power Earbuds. The true wireless earbuds have IPX7 ratings for water resistance, uses Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and features the same 6mm graphene drivers. It has been nearly two months since OnePlus entered the wireless earbuds market with the launch of the OnePlus Buds for a price of Rs. 4990 in India. A rumour has now been spotted that seems to indicate that OnePlus is working on an even cheaper variant of the Buds, with the name Buds Z.
