Chrome has been updated to V70 beta as the V69 is finally stable. This beta is not as big as the previous version but has security-focused features. Chrome 67 for desktop has added web authentications which will allow sites to use fingerprint or a Bluetooth key as the sole login method. This API is now enabled by default on Android. Google Chrome turns 10 today! To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Google is rolling out Chrome with a new design and features across all browsers including desktop, iOS, and Android. First up, new-look for chrome. Starting today, users will see more rounded shaped corners, new icons, and a new color palette. It also comes with new rounded tabs, which is designed to be easier to see and useful for those who like to have too many tabs open in their browser. At the Google I/O 2018 event the company introduced the Duplex Assistant AI-based phone call technology. The feature uses Assistant to make phone calls and book appointments for users when asked. Always connected Chromebooks are slowly making their way back again and it looks like Project Fi and eSIM chips support will be a feature for future Chrome OS devices, according to a recent code-review on the Chromium Gerrit. Google previously announced that it would start displaying “not secure” labels to HTTP sites back in February. Google shows the secure label for sites with HTTPS in its address bar so to make users feel that the web is secure by default and needs no indication. Microsoft today has launched the Windows Defender antivirus scanner for Chrome. It is a Chrome extension that includes a list of malicious URLs that will be blocked in Chrome. If the malicious link matches one on the list, Windows Defender Browser Protection will show a red warning screen letting you know that the web page you are about to visit is known to be harmful, giving you a clear path back to safety with one click.

Back in February, it is reported that Google is working on a mysterious Material Design 2 which was spotted in Google’s open source repository for Chrome and Chrome OS. However, Google quickly made the Commit private as soon as the news broke. However, there few changes to the Commit once again and it now appears that the Chrome browser will receive a full-blown redesign during September.
