
Following its recent 5G rollout in Chennai, the Union Territory of Puducherry, Trichy, and Salem, telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced the expansion of its 5G services to Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Vellore.
The rollout strategy targets areas with high data consumption. This includes major industrial and manufacturing centers like Coimbatore and Tiruppur, alongside Vellore, which serves as a prominent regional hub for healthcare and education. According to the company, these locations generate substantial data demand from both local residents and visitors.
With this expansion, Vi aims to upgrade regional network infrastructure to accommodate the increasing demand for high-speed connectivity. The deployment focuses on optimizing the network experience in high-density locations, commercial zones, and key tourist areas across the three cities.
Commenting on the launch, Sai Venkataraman, Circle Business Head – Tamil Nadu, Vi said:
