Sony has announced the upcoming discontinuation of its Music Pro application. It debuted alongside the release of the Sony Xperia 1 IV, Sony’s flagship smartphone at the time. It was subsequently made available for later high-end Xperia models, such as the Xperia 5 IV and subsequent generations.
Due to various circumstances, the service and all associated features will officially cease operations in late 2026. Sony has expressed its sincere appreciation for the continued support of its user base throughout the platform’s lifespan.
The app was marketed as a professional-grade cloud-processing recording tool, designed to allow users to record high-quality vocals and acoustic guitar directly on their mobile device with “studio-quality” results through AI-based noise and reverb removal.
Service Termination Schedule
The discontinuation will occur in three distinct phases:
- July 27, 2026: New purchases and subscription renewals for all paid services will be suspended.
- August 26, 2026: All paid services will officially end.
- October 27, 2026: Complete termination of all Music Pro services.
