OPPO F33 Pro 5G Unboxing and First Impressions

OPPO today launched the F33 Pro 5G smartphone in India as the successor to last year’s F31 Pro 5G. This retains the display, battery, and rear camera but gets a new 50MP wide front camera, a new rear design, and IP69K ratings. Here we have the unboxing and the first impressions of the phone.

Box Contents

  • OPPO F33 Pro 5G 8GB + 256GB in Passion Red color
  • Protective Case
  • 80W SuperVOOC fast charger
  • USB Type-A to Type-C cable
  • SIM Ejector tool
  • Quick Guide

The phone retains the 6.57-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen with up to 1400 nits of peak brightness and also has up to 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The display has AGC DT-Star D+ glass protection. Outdoor visibility is good.

It is powered by an Octa Core MediaTek Dimensity 6360 MAX processor, has up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and has up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It runs Android 16 with ColorOS 16 out of the box.

One of the main highlights of the phone is the new 50MP front camera that uses a GC50F6 sensor and a 100° wide FoV for better selfies. Above the display, there is an earpiece on the top edge that works as a secondary speaker. The phone has an optical fingerprint sensor, and you can see a small bezel below the screen.

Coming to the button placements and ports, the power button and the volume rockers are present on the right. The dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and speaker grill are crammed in the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top, along with the IR blaster.

The phone retains the 50MP rear camera with OV50D40 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, OIS, and a 2MP depth camera with a Galaxy Core 02M1B sensor, f/2.4 aperture. It supports 1080p 60fps video recording for the rear and the front only has 1080p 30fps video recording, even though there is a 50MP sensor.

Check out some camera samples.

The phone has a flat plastic back with a matte finish offering a good in-hand feel, so it doesn’t slip out of your hands easily. The Passion Red version that we have has a high-energy variant featuring a reflective, metallic finish.

It also comes in a Misty Forest color that features an industry-first “Dynamic 3D Depth” layered coating. It utilizes transfer printing to place pine tree silhouettes directly onto the hardening layer, creating a visual depth effect that shifts depending on the viewing angle. There is also a Starry Blue version with a subtle shine and clean tones.

While most mid-range devices offer IP67 or IP68 water resistance for accidental splashes, the OPPO F33 Pro 5G achieves IP69K certification, the most stringent ingress protection standard available for consumer electronics. It can withstand pressurized water jets at 80°C from multiple angles at close range, allowing the device to endure harsh monsoons and high-pressure cleaning. It packs a 7,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC flash charging, similar to the predecessor.

The OPPO F33 Pro 5G is priced starting at Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model and is now available for pre-order from Amazon.in, OPPO India online store, Flipkart, and offline retailers starting today. There are also launch offers.
