Samsung Galaxy A57 5G Unboxing and First Impressions


Samsung launched the Galaxy A57 5G in India today; here we have the unboxing and the first impressions of the phone.

The phone packs a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display with up to 1200 nits HBM (high brightness mode), up to 1900 nits peak brightness, and has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.

There is a 12MP camera inside the punch hole. There is support for 4K 30fps video recording. The earpiece is present on the top edge that doubles up as a secondary speaker. You can see the in-display optical fingerprint sensor, and there is a tiny bezel below the screen.

The phone runs Android 16 with One UI 8.5 on top that brings several AI-driven tools. The company promises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, alongside up to six years of security updates.

Powered by the latest Exynos 1680 4nm SoC, it promises 15% CPU and 15% GPU boost compared to the Exynos 1580 chip. There is a 13% larger vapor chamber compared to the predecessor.

Coming to button placements and ports, the power buttons and the volume rockers are present on the right side; dual SIM slots, primary microphone, the USB Type-C port, and the speaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is present on the top. You can see the antenna bands since it has a metal frame.

The phone has a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera, arranged in a single line. The phone supports 4K video recording. The company says that phone has upgraded Image Signal Processors (ISP) and enhanced Nightography capabilities for improved low-light photography and videography.

It features a faster shutter speed, advanced image processing for noise reduction, and better contrast balancing in challenging lighting conditions. It uses AI for subject recognition to optimize portraits and background separation. Check out some camera samples.

The phone has a glass back with a glossy finish, and there is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection for the back as well. It gets IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance compared to IP67 ratings in the predecessor.

It retains a 5,000mAh battery that Samsung states can last up to two days. It supports Super Fast Charging 2.0, reaching a 60% charge in approximately 30 minutes.

The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G also comes in Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac colors and is priced starting at Rs. 56,999 for the 8GB + 256GB version. There is a Rs. 3000 bank offer.

It is now up for pre-order from Samsung exclusive and partner stores, Samsung.com, and other online platforms like Amazon.in and will roll out starting April 10th.
