Selsmart, Attero’s sustainable exchange and recycling platform, has partnered with Havells India’s consumer durable brand Lloyd to launch the Lloyd Eco Exchange Program. The initiative enables consumers to exchange old appliances for new Lloyd products through a transparent and convenient process.
Selsmart Platform
Launched in mid-2024, Selsmart operates in over 25 cities in India and handles approximately 30,000 pickup orders each month. The platform provides doorstep collection, secure data wiping, fair resale value, and end-to-end traceability for electronics and home appliances.
Lloyd Eco Exchange Program
The program allows customers to exchange appliances of any brand and apply the assessed value toward the purchase of new Lloyd products. It is currently active at select Havells and Lloyd stores and will expand to partner retailers across all markets where Selsmart operates.
Customers receive instant valuation for their old appliances, which can be applied directly toward new purchases, including air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and televisions. The program ensures responsible recycling and prevents e-waste from entering landfills using Attero’s recycling infrastructure.
Eligible Products
The program accepts appliances across multiple categories and brands:
- Air conditioners: Split and window formats, capacities under 1 ton to over 2 tons
- Refrigerators: Single-door and double-door, various capacities
- Washing machines: Semi-automatic, fully automatic top-load, and fully automatic front-load
- Televisions: CRT and LED/LCD formats, any size
Exchange benefits are applicable even if the old product is from a different brand, ensuring flexibility and convenience.
Recycling and Sustainability
Appliances collected through the program are processed using Attero’s proprietary technology. The system combines mechanical, hydrometallurgical, and pyrometallurgical methods to extract high-purity metals, including copper, gold, silver, and critical battery materials.
The process achieves over 98% recovery efficiency and 99.9% purity, with recovered materials reintegrated into domestic manufacturing supply chains. This approach supports a circular economy, reduces landfill pressure, and strengthens India’s supply of critical materials for clean technology.
