realme 16 Pro: 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED display, 200MP camera, IP69 ratings, 7000mAh battery confirmed

realme has officially confirmed several key specifications of the realme 16 Pro ahead of India launch on January 6, 2026. This includes updates to the camera system, battery capacity, and design language.

Camera System: 200MP Sensor and AI Features

The realme 16 Pro will adopt the primary camera hardware found in the higher-end Pro+ model. The device features a 200MP LumaColor camera system utilizing a Samsung HP5 flagship sensor. The setup supports Super OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and full-pixel auto zoom, allowing for 1×, 2×, and 4× lossless zoom capabilities.

The camera system is TÜV Rheinland-certified and utilizes a HyperRAW Algorithm designed to improve dynamic range in various lighting conditions. For portrait photography, the device includes a “five golden focal length” kit, offering zoom levels of 1×, 1.5×, 2×, 3.5×, and 4×.

realme is also introducing software enhancements, including:

  • Vibe Master Mode: Offers 21 specific portrait tones for different environments.
  • AI Edit Genie: A tool for editing hairstyles, backgrounds, and facial consistency.
  • Video Capabilities: Supports 4K HDR video recording at 1× and 2× zoom, assisted by the MainTrack Algorithm for subject tracking.
Hardware and Performance

Powering the realme 16 Pro is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max 5G chipset. The company reports an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 970,000. Thermal management is handled by an AirFlow VC Cooling System.

A significant update for this generation is the inclusion of a 7,000mAh Titan Battery. Despite the large capacity, realme states the device maintains a slim profile. The power system is managed by an AI Long-life Battery Chip and supports Super Power Saving Mode.

Display and Design

The smartphone features a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen supports 1.07 billion colors and reaches a peak brightness of 6500 nits.

For the exterior, realme has renewed its collaboration with industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. Dubbed “Urban Wild Design,” the aesthetic is inspired by natural elements. The phone will be available in three colors: Master Gold, Pebble Grey, and Orchid Purple. Durability features include an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.

Software and Availability

The realme 16 Pro runs on realme UI 7.0, which integrates the Flux Engine for system animation fluidity. The software suite includes “NEXT AI” features, such as AI Framing Master, AI Recording, and Google Gemini integration.

Pricing and specific availability details regarding memory variants will be disclosed at the official launch event on January 6, 2026. The phone will be sold on Flipkart, realme.com and offline stores.
