Sony was one of the first companies to announce the smart watch and it has not been a very successful journey for them. At IFA 2013 in Berlin, when Samsung announced their first smartwatch – Galaxy Gear, Sony had already announced the second iteration of their Smartwatch – Smartwatch 2. The Smartwatch 2, like most of the Sony flagship devices these days, is water proof. You can check out our quick wrists-on video of the Sony Smartwatch 2.

The Sony Smartwatch 2 is the first smartwatch that comes with NFC connectivity. The Sony Smartwatch 2 can be connected to your smartphone(tablet) via Bluetooth or NFC and can be used to access some basic functions from the watch itself. Some of the apps already available for Sony Smartwatch includes Facebook and Twitter. These applications on the smartwatch enable you to check the notifications right from the watch, without having to open the phone everytime. Sony claims the battery life to be 3-4 days of normal usage which is very good.
