OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro with 6.78″ 185Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series / 8 Elite Gen 5, 9000mAh battery announced

OnePlus has officially introduced its latest performance-oriented smartphone lineup, the OnePlus Ace 7 series, comprising the standard OnePlus Ace 7 and the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro, as it had announced.

Designed around high-refresh-rate straight displays and heavy-duty battery capacities, they have active cooling architectures.

Core Specifications and Differences

The primary distinctions between the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro center on processing hardware and rear camera arrangements:

  • Processing Platform: The OnePlus Ace 7 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series Mobile Platform, whereas the Ace 7 Pro integrates the standard, full-performance  Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform.
  • Camera Capabilities: Both handsets share a 200MP primary camera calibrated with OPPO’s flagship imaging algorithms. However, the Pro model incorporates a secondary 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom for portraiture and long-range capture. The standard model omits a dedicated telephoto camera.

Aside from these two areas, both models share the majority of their core hardware, including display panels, active cooling mechanisms, battery size, charging speeds, ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, and chassis durability ratings.

Display and Visual Performance

The lineup utilizes a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO flat panel built with the X4 luminescent material, co-developed by OnePlus and BOE.

  • Refresh Rates: The screen operates at a global refresh rate of 165Hz for general system navigation and UI operations, with dynamic scaling up to 185Hz supported in compatible gaming titles.
  • Eye Care & Certification: The panel features hardware-level low-blue-light emission and utilizes 3840Hz ultra-high-frequency PWM dimming to minimize flicker in low-light environments. The display assembly also carries eye-protection certification alongside certified Hi-Res audio output integration.

Cooling Architecture and Gaming Hardware

To manage sustained thermal loads, OnePlus has introduced the dual-channel Ice River active air-cooling system. The cooling path relies on a dual-exhaust design that directs one airflow stream straight over the primary chipset and routes the second across the internal side of the rear panel. Manufacturer data states that this dual-channel setup can lower peak SoC temperatures by up to 10°C over an hour of continuous gaming.

Internal benchmark tests report stable performance under maximum display load:

  • In Peacekeeper Elite (185fps mode), the device maintained an average frame rate of 184.9fps with a peak temperature of 38.7°C.
  • In Delta Force, average frame rates held at 184.9fps, recording a maximum temperature of 40.2°C.
  • Complementing the thermal system is a proprietary co-processing layout designed to reduce input latency and stabilize rendering:
  • T3 Touch Chip: Decreases directional wheel swipe latency by 80% and trigger/tap latency by 43%.
  • 800Hz Gyroscope: Increases motion-sensing sampling up to 800Hz, providing a 65% improvement in aiming accuracy and reducing calibration drift by 54%.
  • G3 Network Chip: Optimizes packet priority to lower real-time networking ping.
  • P4 Display Chip: Balances power draw against frame generation to maintain frame stability at high refresh rates.
  • Audio & Haptics: The Ace 7 Pro is further equipped with symmetrical stereo dual speakers and an X-axis linear vibration motor.

Camera System

While both variants incorporate the 200MP main sensor with wide-format imaging profiles and four preset portrait focal lengths, the Ace 7 Pro extends functionality with the 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto module.

On the video front, the Pro model supports 4K recording up to 120fps, 8K video capture at 30fps, 4K ultra-high-definition live photo recording, and a dedicated flat Log color profile for color-grading workflows.

Battery, Build, and Software

Powering the devices is a 9000mAh Glacier Battery paired with 100W SuperVOOC wired fast charging. The platform supports power-bypass technology, allowing the device to draw power directly from the charger during intensive tasks without routing through the cell, thereby reducing heat buildup and wear on the battery chemistry.

  • Build & Materials: The series features metal middle frames. The Ace 7 Pro utilizes a composite glass back with 3D-etched frosty textures designed to resist fingerprints, while the Ace 7 applies a dual-gradient finish with AG sandblasting in a red metallic aesthetic.
  • Biometrics & Durability: Both models feature 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors and carry comprehensive ingress protection spanning IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings against high-pressure water and dust.
  • Software: The series launches with ColorOS 17, which provides system-level 165Hz animations, native AI photography enhancements, and contextual note-taking features.
