Vu Televisions has launched its new Ultra Large TV range in India in 85-inch and 100-inch screen sizes. The range is positioned as an alternative to home projector setups, which require a separate dark room, projection screen, lamp replacement and external speakers.
The TVs feature Premium QLED panels with a 120Hz native refresh rate and 240Hz High-Speed Refresh (HSR). They offer 500 nits of typical brightness and a 94% DCI-P3 colour gamut, along with support for Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG.
- 100-inch: Anti-glare matte panel to reduce reflections in bright rooms
- 85-inch: Glossy panel for higher contrast in controlled lighting
Both models use the 144Hz Iconium™ 4K AI Processor with AI Picture, Intelligent Scene Recognition and AI Upscaling. The processor handles colour, contrast and detail processing across content such as broadcast cricket and 4K streaming. The TVs have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
The built-in VuFX audio system varies by screen size:
- 100-inch: 108W 2.1-channel system with two speakers and a dedicated subwoofer
- 85-inch: 65W 2.2-channel system with two speakers and two woofers
- Both models: Dolby Atmos support
The TVs also feature AI-powered room acoustic mapping. The television plays a test tone while the microphone in the remote captures how the sound travels through the room. The 144Hz Iconium™ 4K AI Processor then adjusts the speaker output according to the room acoustics. The calibration takes a few minutes and does not require a specialist visit.
For sports and gaming, the TVs support MEMC, 144Hz Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Game Mode and a Game Dashboard with crosshair and gaming controls.
The TVs run Google TV with streaming apps and personalised recommendations. They support two Bluetooth voice remotes, far-field voice search, and dedicated Cricket and Cinema modes. Connectivity options include Apple AirPlay, Chromecast and Apple HomeKit for compatible devices.
The Ultra Large TV range has a three-sided bezel-less design and a silver-grey finish. Vu offers tabletop and wall-mounting options along with delivery and installation support. The company says it can complete the installation within two hours using a single-wire connection, without complex mounting or extensive cabling. The TVs do not require a curtain or dark room.
