TCL has unveiled its new P80 Series smartphones at IFA 2026, introducing three distinct tiers: the TCL P80 Ultra, TCL P80 Pro, and standard TCL P80. The lineup integrates TCL’s proprietary display developments—first previewed earlier in the year at MWC 2026—while scaling camera capabilities and battery capacities across price points.
NXTPAPER AMOLED Integration
The defining technical feature of the series is the adoption of NXTPAPER AMOLED technology on both the P80 Ultra and P80 Pro. The panel merges the contrast and color reproduction typical of AMOLED with matte, low-glare surface treatments aimed at minimizing blue-light exposure and eye fatigue.
Across all three models, TCL employs a 6.83-inch 1.5K display (2772 × 1280 resolution) supporting a 120Hz refresh rate, 3200 nits peak brightness, and an anti-fingerprint coating. While the base P80 utilizes a standard AMOLED screen, both the Pro and Ultra include the NXTPAPER layer alongside a dedicated physical NXTPAPER key on the chassis.
Camera Systems and Hardware Differentials
The lineup branches out primarily across imaging and processor configurations:
- TCL P80 Ultra: Serves as the flagship of the series, featuring a triple rear camera arrangement. Its core addition is a 50MP 3× periscope telephoto lens with OIS and EIS, designed for 3× optical and 6× lossless zoom. This sits alongside a 50MP main camera (1/1.56-inch sensor, f/1.88, OIS + EIS) and an 8MP autofocus ultra-wide camera.
- TCL P80 Pro: Retains the same 50MP primary sensor and 8MP ultra-wide configuration as the Ultra, omitting the periscope telephoto module.
- TCL P80: Features the identical dual setup (50MP primary + 8MP ultra-wide) as the Pro, aimed at mainstream daily use.
All three devices share an identical 32MP front-facing sensor capable of 4K video recording at 30fps.
