Nothing Phone (4b) with 6.77″ FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, 6000mAh battery launched in India

Nothing has expanded its smartphone portfolio with the launch of the Nothing Phone (4b) for India and the global markets as it had promised. The Phone (4b) targets young minds looking for a unique, design-forward device without losing everyday efficiency.

Design: Unibody DNA Meets a Refined Glyph Bar

Nothing continues to challenge conventional slab-phone aesthetics by merging elements from its higher-end devices. The Phone (4b) combines the smooth, high-strength polycarbonate smooth unibody of the Phone (4a) Pro with a newly evolved Glyph Bar.

  • The Finish: The body is treated with a specialized primer, color coat, and UV top layer designed to aggressively repel fingerprints while offering a soft, skin-friendly texture.
  • The New Glyph Grid: The signature rear LED interface features a grid of 45 mini-LEDs distributed across five squares. It shines up to 40% brighter than previous iterations with zero light leakage. Users can utilize it to track delivery progress (like Zomato or Uber), monitor camera countdowns, or view real-time cricket scores.
  • Durability: The device boasts an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance and is certified to be 20% more bend-resistant than the older Phone (3a) Lite.
Nothing Phone (4b) RCB Limited Edition

There is also the Nothing Phone (4b) RCB Edition, developed in partnership with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricket franchise to celebrate the club’s historic second IPL title.

Finished in an exclusive red colourway with bespoke RCB branding and collector’s edition packaging, it is the first official RCB smartphone collaboration. It also comes with matching wallpapers and more.

The Big India Flex: A Massive 6,000 mAh Battery

While the global variant of the Nothing Phone (4b) ships with a respectable 5,200 mAh cell, India gets an exclusive hardware upgrade with a massive 6,000 mAh battery. This marks the longest-lasting battery ever packed into a Nothing smartphone, delivering roughly an hour more screen time than the standard Phone (4a).

Built using impact-resistant Safe Cell Technology, the battery retains 90% of its total capacity even after 1,200 charge cycles (equivalent to about 3 years of heavy daily use).

Charging and Endurance Breakdown:
  • Wired Fast Charging: 33W capacity allows the phone to hit 50% in 27 minutes and complete a 1-100% full charge in 80 minutes.
  • Reverse Wired Charging: Supported at 7.5W to charge accessories on the go.
  • Real-World Mileage: Up to 22 hours of YouTube playback, 27 hours of Instagram browsing, or 9 hours of continuous gaming.
Performance and Media: Kept Cool under Pressure

Under the hood, the Phone (4b) is powered by Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor. Thanks to custom CPU scheduling and Nothing OS optimizations, the device claims a 15% boost in CPU performance and a 25% leap in GPU capabilities compared to the Phone (3a) Lite.

To ensure sustained performance during heavy gaming (supporting up to 90 fps in Battlegrounds Mobile India), Nothing equipped the phone with a large 20,829mm² total cooling area, featuring a 4,400mm² Vapor Chamber.

On the front, the phone carries a vivid 6.77-inch Samsung Super AMOLED display featuring a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, 2,000 nits peak brightness, and an in-screen optical fingerprint sensor. Dual stereo speakers with 160 fine-tuned volume levels round out the media experience.

Cameras

The rear camera module is housed cleanly inside the translucent enclosure and features a dual-lens setup:

  • Main Sensor: A 50 MP Samsung sensor equipped with dual-axis Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for crisp, anti-shake low-light photography.
  • Ultra-Wide Sensor: An 8 MP lens providing a wide 119.5° field of view.

The camera array introduces the TrueLens Engine 4.0 and Ultra XDR (co-developed with Google). The system captures 13 RAW frames at varying exposures to seamlessly balance shadows and highlights, rendering true-to-life images that can be directly shared onto Google Photos and Instagram.

Video creators can also capture 4K video at 30 fps or utilize Dual Video Capture to film using the front 16 MP and rear cameras simultaneously.

Software: Nothing OS 4.1 Meets “Essential AI”

The Phone (4b) is one of the early devices to ship with Nothing OS 4.1 built on Android 16. The updated skin includes a Lock Screen Depth Effect, refreshed Quick Settings, and pixel-level micro-shifting to safeguard the AMOLED panel against long-term screen burn-in.

Nothing is also heavily leaning into its new Essential AI tools, easily accessible via a physical Essential Key or custom home screen widgets:

  • Essential Voice: Transcribes spoken words into refined, context-aware text while cutting filler words, correcting grammatical errors, and offering instant translation across 100+ languages.
  • Essential Space: An on-device vault that saves photos, screenshots, or voice notes, dynamically generating to-do lists and summaries.
  • Essential Search: A system-wide tool pulling information from your web queries alongside your personal context stored in Essential Space.

Nothing guarantees strong longevity for the phone, promising 3 major Android version updates and 6 years of security patches.
