Xiaomi just announced the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro, the company’s latest top-end smartphones in the 17T series, at an event in Austria, as it had promised. For the first time in the T Series lineup, Xiaomi is offering the devices in two distinct physical sizes, aiming to cater to different user preferences for form factor and portability.
Leica Camera Integration and “Live Moment” Imaging
The Xiaomi 17T Series places a heavy emphasis on mobile photography, continuing the brand’s collaboration with Leica. Both devices feature a triple rear-camera system headlined by a 50MP main sensor.
However, the hardware differs slightly between the two models: the Xiaomi 17T Pro utilizes a larger 1/1.31-inch sensor, while the standard 17T incorporates a 1/1.55-inch sensor. Both main cameras are equipped with a 1G + 6P hybrid Leica Summilux lens structure and a Leica UltraPure optical design to optimize light intake and detail retention.

A key upgrade for this generation is the inclusion of a 50MP Leica 5x telephoto camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) on both models. This telephoto system supports a wide functional range, from 30cm macro photography to a 10x optical-grade zoom and a maximum of 120x AI Ultra Zoom.
On the videography front, the Xiaomi 17T Pro introduces 4K cinematic recording at 60fps. The series also debuts software enhancements like Stage mode for improved clarity in complex lighting (such as concerts) and Leica Live Moment, a feature that captures brief motion and context leading up to a still shot. The Pro variant further extends this with Ultra-HD Live Moment in 4K and specialized live cinematography modes.

Display Technology and “Vision Care”
The series debuts Xiaomi Vision Care, an integrated display technology designed to mitigate eye strain through automatic ambient light adaptation and the management of blue light, flicker, and motion blur. The display lineup has earned multiple certifications from TÜV Rheinland, including the Intelligent Eye Care certification.

Performance, Chipsets, and Silicon-Carbon Batteries
To support the updated display and camera features, Xiaomi has integrated next-generation silicon-carbon battery technology across both devices, allowing for higher energy density within the chassis.
- Xiaomi 17T Pro: Features a 7,000mAh battery, representing a 27% capacity increase over its predecessor. It supports 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge, alongside 100W PPS compatibility for third-party chargers.
- Xiaomi 17T: Features a 6,500mAh battery (an 18% increase over the previous generation) housed in its more compact frame. It supports 67W wired HyperCharge and 50W PPS charging.
Internally, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, manufactured on a 3nm process. The standard Xiaomi 17T runs on the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra. Both devices utilize the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop System—a vapor-liquid separation thermal management system—to dissipate heat during intensive tasks like gaming or multitasking.
