Ambrane has expanded its product portfolio with the introduction of the Reneo AA and AAA batteries. One of the few companies to launch Type-C rechargeable AA and AAA batteries, this represents Ambrane’s entry into a new product category aimed at providing a reusable alternative to conventional disposable batteries.
Key Features and Charging Capabilities
The primary design feature of the Reneo batteries is the inclusion of direct Type-C charging. This allows users to recharge the batteries using standard Type-C cables—similar to those used for modern smartphones—eliminating the need for specialized, bulky battery charging docks.
Performance specifications include:
- Rapid Charging: A 10-minute emergency charge feature.
- Full Recharge Time: Reaches full capacity in under one to two hours.
- Device Compatibility: These provide a stable 1.5V output suitable for everyday electronics such as TV remotes, wireless mice, toys, trimmers, cameras, speakers, and gaming controllers.
- Reneo Cell AAA: 740mAh (1100mWh)
- Reneo Cell AA: 1850mAh (2775mWh)
The battery capacity is higher than the capacity compared to the Portronics Type-C rechargeable batteries that offer 440mAh and 1480mAh capacities for AAA and AA, respectively.
Sustainability and Safety Specifications
According to the company, the Reneo line is focused on long-term value and environmental sustainability. Each battery is engineered to replace up to 100 conventional disposable batteries, which aims to reduce household battery waste and offer a more economical solution over time.
Ambrane has also incorporated several safety features into the design:
- Inbuilt Protection Circuit: Safeguards against overcharging, overcurrent, and short circuits.
- Physical Design: Built to be leak-proof and non-flammable, ensuring safer day-to-day usage across various personal and household devices.
