
vivo today launched the X300 FE, the company’s latest compact phone in the X300 series, in India. This gets a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, wireless charging support and a new design while retaining the compact screen and the 6500mAh battery. Here we have the unboxing and the first impressions of the phone.

The vivo X200 FE sports a 6.31-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED LTPO display with 1-120Hz refresh rate. The display is bright since it has up to 1800 nits outdoor brightness in HBM and 5000 nits peak brightness, and the sunlight legibility is good as well. There is SCHOTT Xensation glass protection.

It has a tiny punchhole that houses the 50-megapixel autofocus camera. The earpiece is present on the top edge and doubles up as a secondary speaker. The phone has an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The bottom bezels are minimal.
The vivo X300 FE 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, compared to the Dimensity 9300+ in the X200 FE. It has up to 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and supports 5G SA/NSA with several bands. It runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6 on top, and the company has promised 5 Android updates and 7 years of security updates, similar to other phones in the X300 series.
The phone has a power button and volume rockers on the right side. The dual SIM slots, primary microphone, USB Type-C 2.0 port, and speaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is present on the top, along with the IR blaster and speaker vents. You can see the antenna bands on the sides of the phone since it has an aerospace-grade aluminium frame that offers a premium look and finish.

The phone has triple rear cameras that include a 50-megapixel main camera with Sony IMX921 sensor, f/1.57 aperture, OIS, 8MP 106° ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture; and a 50MP IMX882 3x periscope telephoto camera with f/2.65 aperture.
There is ZEISS optics. For the first time, an FE series phones gets support for 200mm vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2.
It supports up to 8K 30fps and up to 4K 120fps video recording with the rear camera, and the front camera supports up to 4K 60fps video recording. OIS does a good job in stabilization. Check out some camera samples.

The rear of the phone has a fiberglass matte finish that offers a good grip. We have the Noir Black version, and the phone also comes in Urban Olive and Lilac Purple colours. It comes with IP68 + IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The phone is just 7.99mm thick and weighs 191 grams, even though it packs a huge 6500mAh battery. It has 90W wired fast charging and also supports 40W wireless charging.
