Tata Play Binge Shots gets Pocket Films micro-drama platform

Tata Play Binge has expanded its short-format content offerings by integrating Pocket Films into its dedicated micro-drama section, Shots. The addition is designed to broaden the platform’s narrative diversity by incorporating culturally rooted and emotionally driven short-form stories.

Content and Catalog Expansion

Pocket Films brings an established library of short-format content to the Tata Play Binge ecosystem. The newly added catalog includes:

  • Micro-dramas: Chaturanga, Vidushi, Maasa, Silent Cycle, and Pilibhit.
  • Short Films: Lock-up, Dubki, Paath, The Disguise, Exchange Offer, Bena, and Special Day.

With Pocket Films joining existing partners Bullet and STAGE, Shots now hosts over 210 micro-dramas and 220 hours of short-format content. The library spans multiple genres, including action, drama, and thriller, available in Hindi and several key regional languages. The company has indicated that additional partners will be integrated in the coming months.

Platform Interface and Accessibility

Shots is integrated directly into the Tata Play Binge app at no additional cost to users, operating on an ad-supported model. The platform is specifically optimized for mobile viewing, featuring:

  • A vertical, scroll-friendly interface.
  • Auto-next playback functionality.
  • Dedicated homepage rails and a standalone section within the main app to eliminate the need for secondary applications or subscriptions.

Shots operates within the larger Tata Play Binge aggregator framework, which provides a single user interface and subscription model for over 30 OTT platforms.

Tata Play Binge is available across large-screen connected devices, including Android and VIDAA OS Smart TVs, the Tata Play Binge+ Android set-top box, and the Amazon Fire TV Stick (Tata Play edition).

Regarding this, Pallavi Puri, Tata Play’s Chief Commercial and Content Officer, said:

As short-format storytelling continues to gain traction across the country, we remain committed to ensuring that viewers always have access to fresh, engaging content, while giving our partners a powerful and seamless platform to reach wider audiences.

Sameer Mody, Founder and Managing Director at Pocket Films, commented:

We’ve always believed in the power of short-format storytelling to create a strong emotional impact in a short span of time. Partnering with Tata Play Binge’s Shots gives us an exciting opportunity to take our diverse catalogue of micro-dramas and short films to a wider, highly engaged audience. This collaboration aligns perfectly with our vision of making meaningful, culturally relevant stories more accessible, while tapping into the growing demand for quick, high-quality content experiences.
