Samsung has officially announced the expansion of its One UI 8.5 beta program, bringing the pre-release software to a wider range of Galaxy smartphones. Following the initial phase of the beta rollout that began in March, the program is now being made available to several older flagship models and, notably, a mid-range device.
The latest expansion brings the One UI 8.5 beta to the following devices:
- Galaxy S23 Series
- Galaxy Z Fold5
- Galaxy Z Flip5
- Galaxy S23 FE
- Galaxy A36 5G (marking the first time the One UI 8.5 beta has been offered on an A-series device)
This phase of the rollout is currently limited to select global markets. Users located in India, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States will be the first to access this expanded beta release.
File Sharing to Airdrop expands to more devices

A notable addition to the One UI 8.5 beta is a new cross-platform file-sharing capability. Building upon its ongoing collaboration with Android, Samsung introduced support for AirDrop directly through its native Quick Share feature starting with the Galaxy S26 series. Now it has expanded to more Galaxy S series, Fold and Flip series devices.
This integration is designed to enable seamless file transfers between supported Galaxy devices and Apple hardware. Due to hardware or software requirements, this specific cross-platform sharing feature has been expanded to premium devices, which include:
- Galaxy S25 Series
- Galaxy S24 Series
- Galaxy Z Fold7 & Z Flip7
- Galaxy Z Fold6 & Z Flip6
Enrollment and Future Availability
Samsung has indicated that the beta program will continue to expand to additional Galaxy devices later this month. Users in the supported regions who wish to participate in testing the new software can register for the program directly through the Samsung Members app.
