Versuni India has announced a major expansion of its domestic manufacturing operations, marked by the launch of new facilities in Chennai and Ahmedabad. This development is designed to strengthen the company’s local production capabilities across high-growth appliance categories while reinforcing its long-term localization strategy.
The expanded operations aim to improve supply chain efficiency within the Indian market and enhance production capacity for key consumer products, including air fryers, air purifiers, and various kitchen appliances.
Facility Upgrades and Capacities
The expansion involves significant physical and operational upgrades across both manufacturing locations:
- Ahmedabad Facility: The production space has doubled to over 15,000 square meters. This expansion facilitates a 100% increase in the annual production capacity for air fryers and introduces a new assembly line dedicated to air purifiers. The plant is equipped with automated and robotic coating lines, plastic injection moulding technology, and specialized assembly lines for air fryers, garment steamers, and air purifiers.
- Chennai Facility: Spanning 12,000 square meters, the Chennai location will continue to operate as an integrated manufacturing hub primarily for kitchen appliances. The facility now includes a newly added air fryer motor manufacturing line to increase overall production output.
Technological Integration and Economic Impact
To improve operational efficiency, quality consistency, and overall productivity, Versuni has integrated smart automation and digital manufacturing capabilities into both locations. These technological advancements include:
- Robotic production systems
- Automated testing machines
- Conveyor-based material handling systems
- IoT-enabled monitoring tools
Employment Generation: Over the next three years, the combined operations of both facilities are projected to generate more than 1,000 direct job opportunities. Additionally, the expansion is expected to create indirect employment throughout the company’s regional supplier and logistics networks.
Strategic Alignment
These manufacturing investments align with Versuni India’s broader strategic goal of achieving a complete portfolio of 100% Made in India products. By scaling its local manufacturing backbone, the company aims to meet the growing domestic demand for modern appliances across the kitchen, garment care, and air treatment sectors.
