Apple has announced a refreshed Studio Display lineup designed to pair with Mac systems for both creative professionals and everyday users. The new models focus on improved display performance, upgraded communication tools, and faster connectivity to simplify modern desktop setups.
Studio Display
Studio Display features a 27-inch 5K Retina panel with 5120 × 2880 resolution and more than 14 million pixels. It supports 600 nits of brightness and P3 wide color, making it suitable for editing, coding, media production, and general productivity when connected to a Mac.
The display includes a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View support, a studio-quality three-microphone array, and a six-speaker system. The speaker setup integrates four force-cancelling woofers that deliver 30 percent deeper bass than the previous generation, along with two tweeters and Spatial Audio support.
Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 5 ports that allow daisy-chaining of up to four Studio Display units for nearly 60 million combined pixels. Two additional USB-C ports support peripherals and charging.
The included Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable provides up to 96W of power delivery, sufficient to fast-charge a 14-inch MacBook Pro. It comes standard with a tilt-adjustable stand and can be configured with a tilt- and height-adjustable stand or a VESA mount adapter.

Studio Display XDR
Studio Display XDR uses a 27-inch 5K Retina XDR panel with 5120 × 2880 resolution and a mini-LED backlight system featuring 2,304 local dimming zones. It supports up to 1000 nits SDR brightness, 2000 nits peak HDR brightness, and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio to improve dynamic range and reduce halo and blooming effects.
The display supports P3 and Adobe RGB color gamuts and delivers more than 80 percent Rec. 2020 coverage for HDR workflows. It includes a 120Hz refresh rate and Adaptive Sync with a variable range between 47Hz and 120Hz. New DICOM medical imaging presets are included, along with a Medical Imaging Calibrator on macOS that is pending FDA clearance in the U.S.
Studio Display XDR integrates a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View, a three-microphone array with directional beamforming, and a six-speaker system with Spatial Audio. It features Thunderbolt 5 connectivity with a secondary downstream port for accessories or display chaining, along with two additional USB-C ports.
The included Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable supports up to 140W charging, enough to fast-charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro. The display includes a tilt- and height-adjustable stand with a 105mm adjustment range and offers an optional VESA mount adapter.

Sustainability and Packaging
Studio Display and Studio Display XDR incorporate 100 percent recycled aluminum in the stand and 80 percent recycled glass in standard glass configurations. The packaging is 100 percent fiber-based and designed for recyclability. The products are built to meet Apple’s energy efficiency standards as part of its goal to achieve carbon neutrality across its footprint by 2030.
