After teasers, vivo has confirmed the launch of S50 and S50 Pro mini smartphones in China on December 15th.
vivo already confirmed that the vivo S50 Pro mini will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC with 3 million points on AnTuTu, more than 1 million points higher than older mid-range flagship phones, support for LPDDR5X RAM and UFS4.1 storage. Earlier reports revealed Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC of the S50, a major upgrade compared to Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the S30.

The phone will feature a second-generation 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, making it the first in the price range to include the sensor as standard across the entire S50 series. The S50 Pro mini and the S50, will feature 6.31-inch and 6.59-inch 120Hz OLED screens, respectively.
In terms of the imaging system, the entire vivo S50 series is equipped with a Sony IMX882 1/1.95″ sensor with periscope lens. The S50 Pro mini features a VCS ultra-sensitive bionic large-sensor main camera. The front camera uses 50MP anti-distortion soft-light selfie lens, equipped with the same full-focal-length zoom flash as flagship models. Furthermore, the entire series also features the same clear and natural portrait algorithm as flagship models, maximizing the preservation of facial details and avoiding distortion caused by “over-AI,” realistically restoring the texture of the subject.
In terms of design, the vivo S50 Pro mini features a horizontal rear camera module, while the standard S50 adopts a rectangular lens design. All models are equipped with an aerospace-grade aluminum frame and utilize a new satin lithography process. The S50 will come in Space Gray, White and Purple colours and the S50 Pro mini will also come in Blue in addition to these.
