OPPO Find X9 and OPPO Find X9 Pro go global

OPPO just introduced the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro smartphones for the global markets, as it had promised, after the phones went official in China earlier this month.

The new series is positioned as an all-around premium experience, featuring a camera system co-engineered with Hasselblad, advanced battery technology, powerful performance, and the integrated ColorOS 16 operating system.

Precision in Every Pixel: The New-Generation Hasselblad Master Camera System

The Find X9 series introduces a new-generation Hasselblad Master Camera System, combining updated hardware with computational photography.

The Find X9 features a triple 50MP camera setup. This includes a pro-level 50MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch Sony LYT-808 sensor and an f/1.6 aperture, designed to capture 57% more light. It is complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT600 sensor. The system also integrates an industry-first True Color Camera, a dedicated spectral sensor intended to precisely measure ambient light for more accurate color reproduction.

The Find X9 Pro features upgraded primary imaging components. Its Ultra XDR Main Camera utilizes a customized 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT 828 sensor and groundbreaking Real-Time Triple Exposure technology. For telephoto capabilities, the Pro model includes a 200MP Hasselblad Telephoto camera. Developed with Hasselblad, this 3x camera features a large 1/1.56-inch 200MP sensor, an f/2.1 aperture, and a 10cm minimum focus distance. OPPO notes an Active Optical Alignment process was used to boost resolution by an additional 15%.

Both devices debut the LUMO Image Engine, OPPO’s suite of computational photography algorithms. The engine is claimed to enhance clarity, dynamic range, and color while operating with up to 50% less CPU usage and 50% less power consumption.

This efficiency allows the cameras to capture photos in full 50MP resolution by default in bright daylight, delivering over four times the detail of standard 12MP images, while intelligently switching to lower resolution modes in challenging light. The series also introduces industry-first 4K Motion Photos, which allows users to extract high-resolution still images from 4K video.

Enhanced Zoom and Pro-Grade Video Capabilities

The Find X9 Series is engineered for live events, offering substantial zoom capabilities. The Find X9 Pro provides high-quality lossless zoom up to 13.2x by intelligently cropping its 200MP sensor, while both models feature OPPO’s Super Zoom algorithm for enhanced clarity up to 120x. They also feature a “Stage Mode” for concert photography.

For video, both devices support 4K 120fps Dolby Vision HDR recording on the main camera, with the Find X9 Pro extending this to its 200MP Hasselblad Telephoto. Professional users are offered LOG recording with ACES certification for color grading. An optional Hasselblad Teleconverter optical accessory is available for the Find X9 Pro, transforming it into a 10x optical super-zoom, enabling up to 200x digital zoom for photos and 50x for video.

A New Era of Battery Power and Design

Battery capacity is a key focus, with the Find X9 featuring a 7025mAh battery within a 7.99mm profile, and the Find X9 Pro packing a larger 7500mAh battery. This is achieved using the third-generation OPPO Silicon-Carbon Battery, which features 15% silicon content. OPPO states the battery is engineered to retain over 80% of its original capacity after five years of typical use.

Both models support 80W OPPO SUPERVOOC™ wired flash charging, 50W AIRVOOC™ wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The design of the Find X9 Series features a modern, flat-edged aesthetic with a contoured frame. They utilize a new-generation flat display with 1.15mm symmetrical bezels. The 120Hz displays boast a peak outdoor brightness of 3600 nits and a minimum brightness of 1 nit, along with high-frequency PWM dimming.

Both feature a matte aluminum frame and glass back cover. Durability is addressed with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings.

Performance and Efficiency

The Find X9 Series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, built on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process. OPPO cites performance gains of up to 32% higher performance for the All-Big-Core CPU and 33% higher graphics performance for the Arm G1-Ultra GPU, with efficiency improvements of 55% and 42% respectively. These capabilities are supported by customized vapor chambers for thermal management.

The devices also feature OPPO’s All-New Trinity Engine, developed with MediaTek to redefine chip-level resource management. This includes Chip-Level Dynamic Frame Sync, a Unified Computing Power Model, and Sensor Offload, which is claimed to result in 16.1% less power usage during 4K 60fps HDR video recording.
