
OnePlus just introduced the OnePlus 15, the company’s latest flagship smartphone, at an event in China, as it had promised.
Display

The front of the device is characterized by a display with ultra-narrow 1.15mm equilateral bezels and a slim chin, designed to maximize the screen-to-body ratio for a more immersive user experience on a 6.78-inch 1.5K screen.
The phone features a world’s first third-generation Oriental screen, leading the industry’s next-generation screen experience with ultra-high display capabilities. It is the world’s first 165Hz high-resolution screen that supports WeChat, QQ, Xiaohongshu, and Weibo in high refresh rate.
It has DisplayMate A++ ratings with customized X3 luminescent materials and P3 screen chipset, built on China’s only “in-house developed display science production line,” with core display specifications exceeding DisplayMate A++ standards, said OnePlus.
The OnePlus 15 features Android’s first and industry-leading “True Hardware 1nit Dark Night Display” offering lower brightness, crisper details, and comfortable viewing in low-light environments, and industry’s lowest flicker performance, with an SVM of less than 0.12; hardware-level low blue light; and the world’s first to receive the “Little Gold Label” eye protection certification.
Performance

The OnePlus 15 is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and uses all-new Glacier Cooling System which is industry’s first ultra-thin “hand-tearable steel” material increases vapor liquid cooling space by 43% and increases capillary water absorption by 100%. It uses industry’s first aerospace-grade “supercritical aerogel” with the insulation material derived from the same source as space rocket engines, keeps fingertips cooler.
It uses industry’s first G2 gaming network chip. Wi-Fi and cellular capabilities have been upgraded, reducing network latency by up to 65.85%, accelerating game updates by 71.3%, and speeding up video transmission by 42% in congested networks, said the company.
It uses Android’s first “Touch Display Sync”, so the touch accuracy and stability have been significantly improved, promising a smooth, seamless experience that’s fast, stable, and responsive. Aiming accuracy has been improved by 77%, zeroing error has been reduced by 60%, and gyro latency has been reduced by 11%, said OnePlus. The OnePlus 15 is the official device for the “Valorant Mobile” National Tournament and the “Peace Elite” Pro League.
Design

The phone has an all-new flagship design, featuring a “Dune Aesthetic,” is a natural, almost alien-like aesthetic, boasting an ultra-high-end design, said the company.
The Metal Cube Deco design boasts a minimalist design with refined textures. Large, golden corners provide a comfortable grip, while the ultra-narrow 1.15mm square edges create an immersive experience. The 50:50 weight balance, metal midframe, and multi-function shortcut keys embody the flagship aesthetic.
The Dune colour uses industry’s first “Primary Color Nanometal Process” boasts elegant simplicity and magnificent beauty. The Absolute Black uses industry’s first “Fully Matte Silk Glass” reveals a power awakened when light fades and the Misty Purple features the industry’s first “Dual-Dimensional Flowing Glass” offers a gentle, misty, and tranquil light.
The phone supports IP66/68/69/69K dust and water resistance, is equipped with a high-performance X-axis vibration motor, features symmetrical dual stereo speakers, supports the N79 high-frequency dedicated band, and supports USB 3.2 Gen1 high-speed data transfer.
Camera

The OnePlus 15 uses OPPO’s “LUMO Condensed Light Imaging,” and features 50MP Sony sensor for the main camera, OIS, and uses OPPO’s flagship imaging algorithms, promising clearer scenes and more natural-looking people.
There is a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens and a 85mm portrait lens. It has 4K 120fps Dolby Vision video recording, ultra-high-definition portraits, ultra-clear Live Photos, and AI portrait fill light.
Battery

The phone packs a 7300mAh “Glacier Battery,” and the company said that it is the only flagship phone this year with the “120W Super Flash Charge” + “50W Wireless Flash Charge” combination. It can charge an extra 1604mAh in 30 minutes, or 5000mAh in 13 minutes faster. You can enjoy 6 hours of streaming with just 5 minutes of charging, said OnePlus.

The phone is now available to order and will go on sale in China starting from tomorrow, October 28th. The company has already confirmed the global and India launch of the phone, and is expected mid-November as India’s first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered phone.
