Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is coming to Macs with Apple Silicon on July 17


CD PROJEKT RED has announced that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is launching on Macs with Apple Silicon on July 17th, after it was announced back in October last year. This follows the debut of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on the Mac earlier this year.

Apple Silicon Mac configurations with 16GB or more of unified memory, running on macOS 15.5 or later is recommended for the best experience, and it will run on Macs starting with M1 models which were released back in 2020.

The game takes full advantage of Apple Silicon and the advanced technologies of Metal including:

  • MetalFX upscaling, AMD FSR upscaling and frame generation optimized for Apple Silicon
  • Spatial Audio with head tracking exclusive to AirPods
  • Dynamically calibrated HDR optimized for Apple XDR displays; HDR output supported on external displays with calibration
  • Game controller support
  • Magic Mouse and Trackpad compatibility
  • Cross-Progression across all platforms

New features announced at WWDC 2025 such as upcoming Metal 4 features — Metal FX Frame Interpolation and MetalFX Denoising will be available in an update later this year.

Cyberpunk 2077, an open-world action-adventure RPG, and its spy-thriller expansion Phantom Liberty. Play as V, a cyberpunk mercenary, and take on the most powerful forces of the city in a fight for glory and survival across Night City and the deadly, walled-off district of Dogtown.

Availability

The Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition along with the standard edition for Macs with Apple Silicon will be available through the Mac App Store, GOG.com, Steam, and Epic Games Store from Thursday, July 17.
