NxtQuantum OS launched as India’s first fully home-grown mobile operating system

NxtQuantum Shift Technologies has introduced NxtQuantum OS, a mobile operating system developed entirely in India with a core focus on data ownership, privacy, and user control. Developed entirely within the country, the OS is built to serve a wide spectrum of users—from individuals to educational institutions, government bodies, and the public sector.

Key Features of NxtQuantum OS

  • Built in India: Fully developed and governed within Indian borders
  • Data Sovereignty: User data stored in MeitY-approved Google Cloud regions located in India
  • Zero-Trust Security: Based on Google Cloud’s zero-trust architecture with a consent-first model for data access
  • Privacy-Focused: No third-party access, unauthorized tracking, or foreign data routing

  • AI at the Core: Locally trained AI engines powering intelligent, context-aware features
  • Custom User Interface: Optimized for performance, transparency, and control
  • Regulatory Compliance: Aligned with Indian laws and data protection standards
  • Enterprise Ready: Supports secure environments such as defense, education, and public services
  • End-to-End Control: OTA updates, security patches, and feature rollouts handled entirely within India

SashiKumar Sreedharan, Managing Director of Google Cloud India, said the partnership with NxtQuantum aligns with their mission to enable scalable, secure, and trustworthy digital infrastructure for Indian users.

Madhav Sheth, Founder & CEO of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, emphasized the OS as a “statement of intent,” highlighting its commitment to trust, transparency, and technological excellence.

Availability

The first smartphones powered by NxtQuantum OS—the Nova 5G and Pulse— will be launched on Flipkart on 8th July at 12:30 PM IST.

Commenting on the launch, Madhav Sheth, Founder & CEO of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, said:

We’ve moved beyond treating privacy as a setting. NxtQuantum OS was designed from first principles—your phone should work for you, not against you. What you do on your device stays with you. Not even we can access it. That’s the level of trust and control this ecosystem will establish. And with Google Cloud’s secure and scalable infrastructure, we’re demonstrating that world-class privacy and national data governance can go hand in hand.
