OnePlus has announced a partnership with Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL) to manufacture premium Internet of Things (IoT) devices locally in India. Earlier this year, realme also partnered with a manufacturer for AIoT product production in the country, signaling a strong push toward domestic manufacturing.
Commitment to India’s Localisation and Production
This partnership aligns with OnePlus’ long-term vision and its Project Starlight initiative, which focuses on strengthening localization efforts. In addition to smartphones already made in India, OnePlus has now expanded to producing its IoT products at OEL’s Noida facility.
Expanding OnePlus’ IoT Product Range with Local Manufacturing Support
OnePlus’ key IoT offerings include true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds and wireless neckbands that deliver the brand’s signature high performance across various price segments, meeting the diverse needs of Indian consumers.
With Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL) as a vital manufacturing partner, OnePlus is increasing localization at the bill of materials (BOM) level to reduce costs and strengthen supply chain resilience.
Local production has already started with the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 neckband, which is scheduled to launch tomorrow (June 19, 2025).
