OPPO Reno14 series to feature enhanced Google Gemini integration

OPPO and Google are deepening their strategic partnership, with recent announcements highlighting a closer integration of their technologies. OPPO’s flagship Find X8 will support Android 16 Beta 3, demonstrating the ongoing collaboration between the two companies.

Enhanced AI Experiences with Gemini

A key development in this partnership involves the upcoming OPPO Reno14 Series, where Google Gemini will be integrated to access information and perform actions across various OPPO applications and services. This includes OPPO Notes, Calendar, and Clock.

Gemini’s Integration with OPPO Apps

Building on the foundation established by ColorOS 15, the collaboration aims to advance AI integration. In the Reno14 Series, Gemini will connect with OPPO’s native applications, allowing users to retrieve information and complete tasks directly through prompts. Users will be able to activate Gemini by pressing and holding the side button.

Gemini is also expected to support multi-app functionalities, streamlining complex tasks. For example, users could ask Gemini to summarize lengthy documents and save the summaries directly into OPPO Notes.

Furthermore, Gemini’s multimodal capabilities will enable users to extract essential steps from online video tutorials, such as recipes from YouTube, and save them within OPPO Notes. Managing daily schedules will also become more intuitive; users will be able to instruct Gemini to “add this to my OPPO Calendar” after booking travel arrangements, and an event will be automatically created.

OPPO’s Broader AI Strategy

At the Mobile World Congress 2025, OPPO outlined an expanded AI strategy focused on delivering comprehensive, secure, and evolving AI solutions. The company also announced a goal to provide generative AI features to approximately 100 million users by the close of 2025.

The strengthened collaboration between OPPO and Google on the Reno14 Series is presented as a significant step in OPPO’s commitment to delivering a seamless and intuitive AI experience, driven by its partnerships.

The OPPO Reno14 series were introduced in China last week. Global and India launch of the smartphones are expected soon.

Commenting on this, Kai Tang, President of OPPO‘s Software Engineering, said:

Our mission at OPPO is to use AI to meaningfully empower our users, which we achieve through strategic partnerships like our collaboration with Google. With the Reno14 Series, we are collaborating closely with Google to systematically integrate Google Gemini into OPPO core apps. This integration will enable users to effortlessly perform complex actions across multiple apps using simple natural language queries, significantly enhancing AI convenience.
