Garmin India announces 2-year warranty for select models, limited-time exchange program

Garmin India has announced a new 2-year warranty policy for select watch models purchased within the country. This extended warranty applies to models launched in India after January 2024, including the Forerunner 165 Series, Fenix 8 Series, Enduro 3, Instinct 3 Series, and other eligible future releases.

Extended warranty scope and purpose

The company states that this initiative aims to enhance the value proposition of Garmin watches bought in India and to encourage purchases through authorized retail channels. Garmin highlights that watches acquired internationally or via unofficial online platforms may only carry a 1-year warranty.

Furthermore, customers seeking warranty service for such products in India could potentially face import duty and Goods and Services Tax (GST) as per government regulations.

Addressing concerns over mis-sold products

Garmin also addressed concerns regarding the sale of unused, refurbished, discontinued, or non-warranty products without clearly informing customers about the lack of warranty coverage. This practice, according to the company, has led to negative service experiences for some buyers.

Limited-time exchange program for affected customers

In response, Garmin is offering a limited-time exchange program for customers affected by such mis-sold watches. Provided they can furnish a proper tax invoice, eligible customers can receive a 50% discount on a Venu Sq 2 or a 25% discount on other Garmin watch models, subject to availability. This one-time offer is valid from June 1, 2025, until June 30, 2025.

Guidance for future purchases

To mitigate the risk of purchasing non-serviceable products, Garmin strongly advises customers to consult the Garmin India website and only purchase models currently listed as available.

How to avail the exchange offer?

Customers wishing to inquire about or avail of the exchange opportunity are directed to email marketing@garmin-india.com. The company’s support team is expected to acknowledge these requests and provide guidance on the process within 15 days, where applicable.

Garmin states that this program is intended to improve customer satisfaction for those affected individuals whose purchases may not be eligible for standard warranty coverage, even if made within the typical one-year period.

Garmin India reiterates its commitment to delivering reliable products and comprehensive after-sales support.
