
LG Electronics India today marked the commencement of construction for its new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. A ceremony was held to mark the occasion, attended by Shri Nara Lokesh, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Real Time Governance and Human Resources Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The new facility, strategically situated in Sri City’s industrial area, is anticipated to become operational by the end of 2026. This development is expected to increase LGEIL’s production capacity and contribute to local employment opportunities in the region.
The Sri City plant will be LG Electronics’ third manufacturing site in India, complementing its existing facilities in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and Pune, Maharashtra. This investment highlights India’s growing significance within LG Electronics’ global supply chain network.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has allocated 247 acres of land in Sri City for the new manufacturing unit. The project is projected to create approximately, 1495 direct jobs. LGEIL’s investment plan involves an expenditure of around USD 600 million (INR 5001 crores) over the next four years. This investment is also expected to potentially attract ancillary businesses, fostering an ecosystem for white goods manufacturing within the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The new plant in Sri City is intended to further localize production and cater to the increasing demand for LG products across India. It is also expected to enhance LGEIL’s supply chain in South India, potentially facilitating quicker access to LG products for consumers in the region. The facility is planned to manufacture a diverse array of products, including AC compressors, refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners.
Regarding this, Lyu Jae-cheol, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company, said:
We are taking yet another important first step toward enhancing our partnership with India and contributing to its economic growth. The construction of our third manufacturing plant will complement our existing production facilities in Noida and Pune and marks a new milestone in our journey in India. This brand-new facility will create more jobs and increase local production.
