Samsung Galaxy A55 5G with Exynos 1480, AMD Xclipse 530 GPU surfaces in benchmarks

Samsung Galaxy A55 5G, the company’s upcoming mid-range 5G, surfaced in renders earlier this month, but the benchmarks of the phone surfaced before that, revealing Exynos 1480 and Xclipse 530 GPU from AMD.

Even though earlier benchmark scores were not impressive, now the phone with the model number SM-A556B has surfaced on Geekbench 6 listing revealing single-core score of 1127 and multi-core score of 3090.

This is slightly better than the single-core score of 1006 and multi-core score of 2792 in the Galaxy A54 powered by Exynos 1380 SoC. We will have to wait for the GPU benchmark scores to find out how the Xclipse 530 GPU compares to the Mali-G68 MP5 GPU.

Based on earlier rumours, the Exynos 1480 SoC (S5E8845) is said to feature 4 x performance cores clocked at 2.75GHz and 4 x efficiency cores clocked at 2.05GHz, and this reveals the same. It also reveals 8GB of RAM and Android 14.

The phone is said to measure 161.1 x 77.3 / 77.9 x 8.2mm, making it slightly taller and wide than the A54, since this is said to feature a 6.5-inch Infinity-O display, compared to the 6.4-inch screen in the A54.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is rumoured to feature a 50MP rear main camera, 12MP ultra-wide and a 32MP front camera, same as the Galaxy A54. China’s 3C certification revealed 25W fast charging for the phone, similar to the Galaxy A54. This doesn’t come with a charger in the box, similar to most other Samsung phones.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G and the Galaxy A35 5G are expected to be introduced sometime in January 2024.
