Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to power Xiaomi 14 series, iQOO 12, OnePlus 12, realme GT5 Pro and more


Qualcomm today introduced its flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform that promises 30% improvements in CPU, 25% GPU performance improvements and 10% overall improvements in power efficiency.

It also confirmed that several OEMs including ASUS, HONOR, iQOO, MEIZU, NIO, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, Redmi, RedMagic, Sony, vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE will use the chip.

Xiaomi 14 series

Xiaomi’s new flagship, Xiaomi 14 series will be the first to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, says the company’s President William Lu. The company has already confirmed the launch of the phones on October 26th at an event in China.

Redmi

Xiaomi has also confirmed that Redmi K70 series will be one of the first phones to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and it is expected to be introduced in November. Redmi K70 series have passed 3C certification, with 90W fast charging, and the top-end models support up to 120W fast charging.

iQOO

iQOO has confirmed the launch of iQOO 12 on November 7th, making it the second phone to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Yujian Shi, Senior Vice President & CTO at vivo has also confirmed that vivo will also launch flagship devices powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

OnePlus

OnePlus 12 is confirmed to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, but the company is yet to reveal the launch date of the phone.

realme

realme has confirmed that its upcoming realme GT5 Pro will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. “We’ll deepen our collaboration to bring our fans next-level optimization on hardware and software and bring a comprehensive upgrade to performance and camera experience,” said Chase Xu, realme VP.

OPPO

OPPO has also confirmed its future flagship will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. This should be the Find X7 Pro.

OPPO also demoed PhysRay Engine 2.0 proprietary ray tracing engine on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. This significantly improves visual effects such as reflections and taillights in gaming, enabling complex and detailed gaming scenarios with remarkable fidelity and high frame rates, said the company.

This initiative marks the first-ever collaboration between OPPO, Qualcomm Technologies, and Mythical Games, and marks OPPO’s first-ever mobile ray tracing experience in a real-world racing game demo, providing more realistic game scenes and immersive experience.

ZTE nubia and Redmagic

Wei Luo, Vice President of ZTE Corporation, General Manager of Terminal Product has confirmed that Nubia flagship smartphone based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is coming soon. Inheriting the professional camera features, the new device will bring more comprehensive and all-round camera, performance, and design, he added.

Hang Yu, Executive VP, Nubia Technology Co., Ltd, said that the upcoming RedMagic’s new product will adopt the new flagship platform. With
the support of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, we believe that the performance of RedMagic’s new product will be even more powerful and become the performance king that game users love, he added.

ASUS

ASUS has confirmed that it will use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in its 2024 flagship ASUS mobile phones, which should be the Zenfone 11 and ROG Phone 8. “Mobile users everywhere will be able to harness the power of artificial intelligence for more creative, productive, and secure online experiences,” said S.Y. Hsu, co-CEO of ASUS.

HONOR

Fang Fei, President of Product Line, HONOR just said that HONOR and Qualcomm will work together to bring consumers more iconic flagship products. “We wish the new Snapdragon flagship mobile platform a great success!,” he added.

motorola and Sony Mobile have also confirmed its phones will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in the future.
