OPPO Reno10 5G, Reno10 Pro 5G and Reno10 Pro+ 5G India launch confirmed

After rumours, OPPO has confirmed the launch of its Reno10 series 5G in India soon. The company has also revealed some of the features, including the colours and the variants.

The OPPO Reno 10 5G will come in Ice Blue and Silvery Grey colours, will come with 120Hz 3D Curved Screen, and feature a 32MP Telephoto Portrait Camera. The phone will come in 8GB + 256GB version.

Reno 10 Pro and Pro+ colours and cameras

The OPPO Reno 10 Pro and Reno 10 Pro+ 5G will come in Silvery Grey and Glossy Purple colours, will come in 12GB + 256GB version and pack a 50MP Sony Flagship IMX890 main camera with OIS.

The Reno 10 Pro 5G will come with a 32MP Sony IMX709 Telephoto Portrait Camera, and the Pro+ 5G gets a 64MP 3x Telephoto Portrait Camera With OIS so that you can shoot portraits from a distance for more natural facial proportions, devoid of any mild fish-eye distortion that you would get from
smartphone cameras that force you to shoot from closer.

OPPO Reno 10 Pro Plus 1X vs 3X Portrait

At 64MP, this telephoto portrait camera is the highest megapixel telephoto portrait camera in the industry—backed by a 1/2-inch image sensor—that lets you snap portraits with up to 3x telephoto with OIS; you also get 120x hybrid zoom. The closest focus distance of this camera is 25cm.

In low light, the telephoto lens excels at enhanced light gathering for brighter and clearer portraits with reduced noise, while preserving the natural ambience of the scene.

When combined with the new colour calculation engine, TurboRAW2.0, the Reno 10 Pro+’s process speed for nighttime photography has increased by 54%, the capture success rate of quick snapshots by 7%, and the dynamic range of the photo by 11% for overall accurate colours and richer details when compared to the Reno 8 Pro, says the company.

The Reno 10 Pro and Pro+ also sport the 8MP Sony IMX355, a 112° ultra-wide-angle camera with a 1/4-inch sensor. The IMX355 boasts a broad dynamic range that allows it to preserve details in bright and dark areas of a photograph.

And finally, there is a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor with AF for selfies and precise facial recognition even in low light. This RGBW sensor on the front camera is customised for OPPO, where the colour W (white) is inserted into
each RGGB pixel array; this increases the light intake by 60% when compared to general RGGB lens. It is backed by a 1/2.47-inch sensor and a 90° FOV for wider selfies.

Anti-reflective Lens Coating

To ensure that a maximum amount of light reaches the sensor, the camera lens on the Reno 10 Series comes with ALD (atomic layer deposition) coating that prevents green and red glare. This reduces light reflectivity by up to 70% to ensure that unwanted reflections are minimised for clearer and more vibrant images.

Additionally, the spin-coating process is applied to the blue glass to create a uniform thin film with nanoscale thickness. This coating absorbs infrared light and prevents stray light. It further enhances the optical performance
to deliver sharper and more precise images while minimising unwanted artefacts caused by stray light.

OPPO AI and NPU

Like all OPPO devices, the camera setup on the Reno 10 Series leverages proprietary algorithms, filters, and photo-editing tools for the beautification of portrait images.

Additionally, the Reno 10 Pro+ comes with camera algorithms that kick in for 4K videos to fuse two frames of long- and short-exposure image information in real-time to widen the original dynamic range four times.
Simultaneously, the AI Noise Reduction (AINR) algorithm intelligently identifies noise pixels in night-time videos and denoises each frame for noise reduction. Also, the Reno 10 Pro+ utilises an AI Depth algorithm that has undergone extensive training with millions of images. It calculates the distance between objects and characters in the background to create a precise depth map for beautiful bokeh.

It is only after these processes are completed by OPPO algorithms that the data is transferred to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC for exposure and colour adjustments via the independently developed 3A (Autofocus, Auto exposure, Auto white balance) algorithms to result in natural-looking, evenly-exposed videos.

All the specifications should be similar to the Chinese models that were introduced in May. To remind you, the phone feature a FHD+ / 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 778G / Dimensity 8200 / Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoCs.

OPPO Reno 10 Series 5G lucky draw

OPPO is running a lucky draw on its site that lets you stand a chance to win OPPO Reno10 Pro+, Enco TWS Earbuds, OPPO MH135 Type-C Earphone and Coupons worth Rs. 500 / Rs. 300 / Rs. 100. It starts from today, 26th June and runs till 15th July, so the phones could launch sometime in that week.

We should know the exact launch date in the coming days.
