Google Pixel 8 Pro with thermometer sensor to measure body temperature surfaces

According to recent leaks, the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro smartphone, from Google, may include a built-in thermometer. The design of the Pixel 8 Pro will resemble its predecessor, the Pixel 7 Pro, but with a notable change. Instead of three separate cameras, the Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to feature a camera bar that houses all the cameras along with the thermometer sensor.

This dedicated thermometer sensor will be able to measure the temperature of both humans and objects. However, it may be exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro and not available on the more affordable Pixel 8 model. Google employees are already testing the new Pixel 8 Pro, according to the report.

A leaked video from 91mobiles demonstrates how users can utilize the thermometer feature on the Pixel 8 Pro. To take their temperature, Pixel users will need to remove any accessories covering their temples or forehead. Then, they should hold the phone close to their forehead without touching the skin and move it around for 5 seconds to obtain a temperature reading from the thermometer.

Google kept the Pixel 8 series under wraps at the I/O keynote last week, where it showcased the Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet. However, the Pixel 8 series is expected to launch in October, with the Pixel 8 Pro as the flagship device. The Pixel 8 Pro will likely have a 6.52-inch screen and a powerful Tensor G3 chipset. It may also boast a 50 MP Samsung camera on the rear and a front-facing camera in a punch hole on the display.
