The phone has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ 120Hz AMOLED DotDisplay that can switch between 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz. It has HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. It has up to 1000 nits brightness, so the sunlight legibility is good even in bright outdoors, but it is less than 1300 nits in the F4 5G. There is 1920Hz High Frequency PWM Dimming.

The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has 240Hz touch sampling rate, offering a smooth gaming performance. It has a 2.2mm ultra-narrow bottom bezel.

The tiny punch-hole houses a 16MP camera. On the top edge there is a loudspeaker grill that also doubles up as a speaker. Since the phone has an always-on display, it doesn’t have a notification LED.

It is the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 4nm SoC with support for liquid cooling that has vapor chamber area as high as 3725mm²  compared to 3112 mm² in the POCO F4, which translates to about a 19.7% increase in size. It also has 14 layers of graphite sheet covering, 10000 mm²
of total area.

It runs Android 13 with MIUI 14 out of the box. The company has promised 2 OS updates and 3 years of security updates for the phone.

Coming to the button placements, the volume rockers and the power button that integrates the fingerprint sensor are present on the right side of the phone. The dual SIM slot, loudspeaker grill, primary microphone and USB Type-C port are present on the bottom. It doesn’t have a microSD expansion slot.

On the top there is a vent for the speaker, secondary microphone and an infrared sensor along with the 3.5mm audio jack which is making a comeback. Since the phone has a plastic frame, you don’t see any antenna cutouts. The flat frame offers a good grip to hold and doesn’t attract fingerprints.

The POCO F5 5G features the 64MP rear camera with OIS. There is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and 2-megapixel macro camera. It supports up to 4K 60fps video recording.

Check out some camera samples.

The phones feature a flat-edge design and a plastic back. The phone also has IP53 ratings for dust and water resistance. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging that can charge up to 100% in 45 minutes. It weighs 181 grams, much lighter than the POCO F4 even with a bigger battery.

The POCO F4 5G starts at Rs. 29,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model. With the instant discount and bank offer, the phone will be available starting at Rs. 26,999. It will be available from Flipkart starting from May 16th.

POCO also offers 2 years of warranty for the phone. The pricing is competitive for the features. The complete review of the phone is coming soon.
