OnePlus Pad Unboxing and First Impressions

Months after revealing the design and specifications of the OnePlus Pad, the company has finally launched it in India. Starting at a price of Rs. 37,999, the OnePlus Pad promises premium performance, a high quality display and great build quality. We unboxed the device and here are our first impressions.

Box Contents

  • OnePlus Pad 12GB+256GB variant in Halo Green colour
  • 2-pin 100W SuperVOOC charger
  • USB Type-A to Type-C cable
  • Safety Guide, Quick Start guide and Red Cable Membership card

The OnePlus Pad features an 11.61-inch 2.8K LCD screen with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz and an unique aspect ratio of 7:5. The resolution is 2800 x 2000 pixels which calculates to a density of 296 PPI. The panel can switch between 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz, and it has a maximum brightness of 500 nits. It also supports Dolby Vision.

The tablet has a metal unibody design with 2.5D rounded edges that feels really nice in the hand. The Halo Green colour looks great, and it doesn’t attract fingerprints easily. The bezels are uniform all around and measures just 6.54mm. On one edge, there is a strong magnet to hold and charge the OnePlus Stylo. When held in landscape mode, there are 2 speakers on either side, for a total of 4 speakers.

Coming to the ports and buttons, there is a power button on the left edge when it’s held in landscape, and a volume rocker on the top edge. The bottom edge has a pogo pin connector for attaching accessories such as OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard. The charging port can be found on the right edge.

The 8MP front facing webcam can be found along the bezel of the long edge. There is no fingerprint sensor unfortunately, instead it only supports Face Unlock via the front-facing camera.

The 13MP rear camera is placed in the center of the back. Here are some camera samples:

It is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity chipset that can boost up to 3.05GHz, and it is paired with either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For software, it runs OxygenOS 13.1 out-of-the-box based on Android 13. There are a number of integrations and features that OnePlus has added to OxygenOS 13 that only work with a OnePlus phone. We will be testing them in the full review, so stay tuned.

The battery inside has a capacity of 9510mAh and OnePlus claims it will offer 14.5 hours of video playback. It is also one of the few tablets in the market to support up to 67W fast charging, capable of charging it from 1%-90% in 60 minutes.

The OnePlus Pad is priced at Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant and the 12GB + 256GB  variant costs Rs. 39,999.

The OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard is priced at Rs. 7,999 and the OnePlus Stylo costs Rs. 4,999.

It is available from Amazon.in, Flipkart, OnePlus online store and offline stores including OnePlus Experience stores & select Reliance and Croma stores.
