Samsung just introduced the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34, the company’s latest mid-range 5G smartphone in the A series. The A54 has a 6.4-inch FHD+ 120Hz Super AMOLED Infinity-O display and replaces the Exynos 1280 SoC with the latest Exynos 1380.
The Galaxy A54 has a new 50MP rear camera, while retaining the 12MP ultra-wide and the 5MP macro camera, but it doesn’t have a depth sensor. It has a 32MP front camera.
The A34 gets a 6.6-inch FHD+ 120Hz Super AMOLED Infinity-U display, an upgrade from 90Hz in the predecessor, and gets Dimensity 1080 SoC. This retains the 48MP rear camera, 8MP ultra-wide angle camera and a 5MP macro camera, but it doesn’t have a depth sensor. It has a 13MP front camera.
The phones have improved optical image stabilization (OIS) and video digital image stabilization (VDIS). The company highlights Nightography and AI capabilities in the phones. Users can also now remove unwanted shadows and reflections for the first time in Galaxy A series, thanks to the enhanced editing tools.
Samsung says that both displays have been upgraded for astounding outdoor visibility, even under bright sunlight, without revealing the exact brightness details. With the enhanced Vision Booster and a 120Hz refresh rate, the displays will keep up with users as they move between different lighting conditions, said the company.
Both the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G run Android 13 with One UI 5.1, and the company guarantees up to four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security updates for the phones.
There is Samsung Knox defence grade mobile security, Privacy Dashboard, Private Share and more. The phones have IP67 ratings for dust and water resistance.
