TECNO PHANTOM Vision V is a sliding screen foldable smartphone concept

TECNO under its PHANTOM sub-brand has posted a new video that showcases a foldable smartphone concept with a rollable sliding screen design. This comes after the launch of last month’s PHANTOM X2 Pro, which was launched as the world’s first retractable portrait lens in a smartphone.

The PHANTOM Vision V promises a large-screen experience in a compact, stylish and sleek device. It shows the smartphone with a small display which opens up and slides forward to offer a large 10.1-inch screen. The smartphone has slimmer bezels on both its standard single and 10.1-inch unfolded screens.

The PHANTOM Vision V features a multi-functional reverse-side back cover screen that offers customizable prompts, reminders and important information based on users’ varied needs while allowing users to read messages, hands-free, from the back screen.

The screen features 11 functional layers, resulting in a combination of extreme flexibility and superb durability. It has an aerospace-grade titanium alloy casing for better sturdiness, while the long-life hinge design promises durability even with heavy and frequent usage.

TECNO didn’t reveal when we can expect a commercial device based on the PHANTOM Vision V concept.

Regarding the new concept, TECNO said:

The unveiling of the foldable concept video of PHANTOM signals the start of an exciting era of innovation pursued by TECNO PHANTOM. It is a testament of PHANTOM’s continuous efforts to reinvent the smartphone experience and deliver an elevated lifestyle experience for the evolving consumers of tomorrow and beyond.

The foldable concept video is a further reflection of the brand’s innovative, pioneering spirit as it pushes to develop the next premium technologies for its high-end devices in frontier markets.
