Qik update brings live video chat between Android and iOS devices


Qik Video Connect app that lets users to stream live videos, now offers live video chat between Android and iOS devices over 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi and adds video mail feature if you can’t chat live. Skype acquired Qik this January and this is the first major update for Android Qik app since then.

Features of New Qik video connect for Android

  • Making live video calls to other Android or iOS devices over 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi
  • Sending video mail for free until June 1, 2011 (premium Qik account is required after that), Receiving is free
  • Share live videos to Facebook, Twitter and You-Tube
  • Video feed to see what your friends are sharing
  • Instantly view the people available in the contact
  • Video recording is private by default
  • Ability to block anonymous callers in the settings

Qik Video Connect for iOS gets a minor update to version 6.3 that lets iOS users to perform live video chat with Qik users on Android devices.

Qik Video connect plus is available for free for iOS users as a Special offer this week. Qik Video Connect plus has some extra features like editing tools, adding effects, video sync and sharing HD videos from video gallery.

Download Qik Video Connect and Qik Video Connect Plus for Android (2.1 and later) and iOS (iOS 4.1 and later) devices from the Android market and Apple iTunes store.
