Tata Neu: All you need to know about Tata’s super app

Tata Neu, a much-expected super app from The Tata Group, is set to go live along with the IPL match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at 7:30 pm.

Similar to China’s WeChat and Alibaba, Tata Neu brings a host of digital services, including daily grocery, financial, flight, electronics, and holiday requirements, under one umbrella. 

N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, says, “Our aim is to make the lives of Indian consumers simpler and easier. The power of choice, a seamless experience, and loyalty will be at the centre of Tata Neu, delivering a powerful One Tata experience.”

Supported brands

To be precise, Tata Neu will be a one-stop-destination to avail services from 

  • Air Asia 
  • BigBasket 
  • Croma 
  • IHCL 
  • Qmin 
  • Starbucks 
  • Tata 1Mg 
  • Tata CLiQ 
  • Tata Play 
  • Westside 

Other services, including Vistara, Air India, Titan, Tanishq, and Tata Motors will be added soon.

N. Chandrasekaran, says, “Tata Neu is an exciting platform that gathers all our brands into one powerful app. Combining our traditional consumer-first approach with the modern ethos of technology, it is an all-new way to discover the wonderful world of Tata.” 

Besides shopping, Tata Neu will allow users to pay for their utility bills (both online and in-store purchases) using Tata Pay. Further, users can make payments, manage finances, plan their next holiday, or perhaps the next meal.

Additionally, the app also supports UPI as well as EMI options for customers. Similar to GPay and PhonePe, users can also send money over UPI or to a bank account using the Tata Neu app.

The app also offers a dedicated tab, where users can read all about the latest trends in fashion, tech, travel, and food in our digital magazine – Stories.

Rewards programme

Even though users can download the app currently, the accessibility to its feature is restricted to Tata Group employees. Further, the super app will have a loyalty program in a bid to retain customers. 

Each brand on Tata Neu is connected by a common reward called NeuCoins, which can be earned across all brands online and at physical locations and can be used similarly as well. 

A single Neu coin value of Rs. 1 each and can be redeemed on booking flights via AirAsia, purchases made through Big Basket, Croma, Tata CliQ, Westside and Tata 1mg.

Further, the app offers what it calls ‘NeuPass,’ a membership programme for users where they can earn 5% Neucoins every time they shop on the app. However, the users need to do the payment through Tata Pay at checkout to redeem these NeuCoins.

As of now, there is no information on the membership fees but it will be disclosed soon. Tata Neu app is now available on Google Play Store for Android users and App Store for iOS users.
