We got hold of the phone, and here is our unboxing.

The realme 9 has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED punch-hole screen with a pixel resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels, 20:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass screen with gentle rounded corners. The display is bright, and the sunlight legibility is good as well, thanks to 1000 nits peak brightness. It has 90Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. The phone has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection protection.

It has the punch-hole that houses a 16-megapixel camera, which has been in a standard in most realme mid-range phones. The earpiece is present on the top edge. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner that can also record your heart rate.

Powered by Snapdragon 680 6nm SoC with up to 8GB of RAM, the performance is good. It also has Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) technology, which can add up to 5GB to the existing RAM.

Coming to the button placements, the power button is present on the right side. The dedicated dual SIM and microSD slots are on the left, along with the volume rockers. The 3.5 mm audio jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top. Audio from the mono speakers are decent.

Coming to the camera, the phone is the first to feature a 108-megapixel primary rear camera with Samsung ISOCELL HM6 image sensor with NonaPixel Plus technology, which helps to bring more brightness to photos and enhances overall light intake by 123%. The HM6 sensor also combines in-sensor ultra-zoom technology with a merging algorithm that promises stunning zoomed-in photo that clearly captures even the smallest details. It also has an 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide camera and a 2MP 4cm macro camera alongside. It supports up 1080p video recording with both the front and rear cameras. Check out some camera samples below.

The realme 9 features the Ripple Holographic Design inspired by the light from the desert, which gives the 3D effect of light changing. The phone is 7.99mm thin, and weighs 178 grams even though it packs a 5000mAh battery. The phone has support for 33W Dart Charging that can charge up to 50% in 31 minutes

The realme 9 starts at Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB + 128GB version, but it will be available at an introductory price of Rs. 15,999 when it goes on sale on April 12th on realme.com, Flipkart and offline stores.
