A Brief Analysis of the Indian Mobile Subscribers Growth in March 2009


Recently the Cellular Operators Association of India revealed the statistics of the growth and present subscriber base of all GSM operators operating in Indian territory. According to the report of COAI (Cellular Operator Association of India) Aircel had the highest growth in the month of March with the exact growth rate of of 5.73% over the previous month followed by Loop mobile, Vodafone, Airtel and other operators.

As far the number of subscriber is concerned, as usual, Airtel remains the operator with the highest number of subscribers in the Indian Telecom space totaling to 93.923 million subscribers followed by Vodafone having 68.76 million subscribers all over India. And Loop mobile (earlier known as BPL) having the minimum subscriber base of 2.11 million in the country.

The overall growth rate of subscriber base in the month of March over February 2009 was 3.91% adding 10.85 million new customers.
