Zoom update adds Focus Mode, Transfer Meetings, Limit Screen Sharing and more

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, video conferencing applications like Zoom became very popular among users and saw a surge in usage. The company has been adding new features with every update and similarly, now, the latest update adds new features like Focus Mode, Transfer Meetings, and more.

Focus Mode as the name suggests, helps users keep focused in the meeting. In this mode, the participants will be only able to see the host, co-hosts, themselves, and the content they are sharing. As usual, hosts, co-hosts can choose the gallery view to view all the participants simultaneously.

Further, in this new update, users can easily transition their meetings from desktop to mobile and back to mobile. When a guest participant joins a meeting, administrators can also now apply restrictions to specific users or to groups that prevent them from screen sharing.

Apart from this, Zoom has introduced Automatic reactions from gesture recognition for Raise Hand and Thumbs Up which enables users to use visual gestures. This has been introduced on the iPad app for now.

Other new features include enhanced security and privacy of calls on shared lines, more call queue visibility, chat sidebar enhancements, and granular control of call monitoring privileges.
