Apple Music beta for Android brings Lossless and Spatial Audio support

After announcing support for Dolby Atmos, Lossless and Spatial audio in Apple Music, Apple began rolling it out to Apple devices last week. The features will soon be available on the Android Apple Music app, as the company has begun testing them in the beta app.

In the latest Apple Music beta, there are new settings visible that enable both Lossless at up to 24-bit/48 kHz and high-Resolution Lossless at up to 24-bit/192 kHz. These options can be found in the new Audio Quality settings and will allow users to choose the streaming quality for Cellular, Wi-Fi Streaming and Downloads.

Along with the new streaming quality options, the beta is also introducing Automatic Crossfade, which is a setting that will allow apps to seamlessly transition between songs.

The complete changelog is as follows:

In this update, Apple Music adds spatial listening on compatible devices, with thousands of tracks in Dolby Atmos available at launch.

Other updates include:

  • Lossless Audio, a new way to experience un-compromised sound, with bit-for-bit accuracy.
  • Automatic Crossfade, a new way to listen that blends each song into the next for a seamless experience.
  • Search enhancements to library, which allow you to more easily find your favorite music with in-line search.

The new Apple Music Beta is available for download via Apkmirror, however if you are unsure about installing the beta, the feature should be out in the stable version soon.
