India TWS headset market records 156% YoY growth in Q1 2021, boAt leads with 21% share: Report


The truly wireless (TWS) earbuds market in India continues to grow during the first quarter of 2021, recording a growth of 156% YoY. According to a report from Counterpoint Research, the top 5 manufacturers in this market segment during this quarter were boAt, OnePlus, realme, pTron and Noise.

In the lead for market share, boAt had a fantastic quarter with growth of 576% YoY. Among the top 5 TWS earbuds shipped in Q1, 2021, boAt secured 3 models, which include the Airdopes 131, Airdopes 381 and the Airdopes 121.

OnePlus came in second place, with its most popular model being the OnePlus Buds Z. In third place was realme, thanks to the popularity of the Buds Q, which accounted for 5% of TWS earbuds shipments in the quarter.

pTron came in 4th place with a market share of 6%, with many popular models such as Bassbuds Vista, Bassbuds Pro and Bassbuds Jets. Lastly, Noise secured 5th place with a market share of 4%.

Commenting on the market’s growth, Research Analyst Shilpi Jain said:

Enhancement in features like sound quality, low latency for better gaming experience, smart touch control for a hassle-free experience, and waterproof and dustproof ratings have helped advance the growth of TWS market in India. Also, the constant trends of multiple new launches and low pricing strategy have accelerated the growth further.
