Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 8nm Compute Platform with built-in 4G for entry-level Windows PCs and Chromebooks announced

Qualcomm just announced Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 compute platform, the second generation of entry-level platform for entry-level Windows PCs and Chromebooks after the first one was introduced back in December 2019. It is still based on 8nm processor technology, has integrated Snapdragon X15 4G modem and the company said that it will offer 10% higher system performance than competitive platforms.

It will offer up to 19+ hours of continuous use on a single charge is up to 2x the battery life of typical entry-tier laptops, said the company. The SoC is capable of over 5 trillion operations per second (TOPS) with the fifth generation Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine, features virtual surround sound, and echo cancellation and noise suppression, and supports 4K HDR media streaming, up to 32-megapixel camera for high quality video conferencing, or utilizing low-light video and photography and Hi-Fi Audio features.
