Xiaomi Mi TV 4 55-inch users can get the Mi Box 4K for Rs. 2499 – Here’s how to claim it

Xiaomi launched the Mi Box 4K HDR Android TV Box in India recently alongside the Mi 10 5G. It went on sale earlier this week on Flipkart, mi.com and Mi Home stores for Rs. 3499, and just 5 days after launch,  Xiaomi India is now offering extra Rs. 1000 discount on the Mi Box 4K for existing Mi TV 4 55-inch users.

Existing users of the Mi TV 4 55-inch looking to purchase a Mi Box 4K need to fill in details such as Name, Email, Mobile number, TV Serial number, and Platform purchased (Mi Home, Mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart or any other offline retailer) on Xiaomi India’s website to get a unique Rs. 1000 off coupon for the purchase of Mi Box 4K. The details will be validated by the company and once it is deemed valid, users will receive an email with a unique coupon code, equivalent to a Rs. 1000 discount on purchase of a Mi Box 4K Android TV Box.

The offer is valid from 15th May to 25th May, 2020, can be claimed only once, and Mi TV users should have a valid mi.com account in order avail the offer. The Android TV update cannot be made available for the Mi TV 4 55-inch and so at the price of Rs. 2499, the Mi Box 4K seems to be a good deal for existing Mi TV 4 55-inch users.

In a statement Xiaomi said:

At Xiaomi, our endeavor is to provide the best Smart TV experience to all our Mi Fans, and we are constantly working on improving it. While we have pushed the latest Android TV update to over 3 Million devices, we regret to inform that android updates cannot be made available to Mi TV 4 55. Because of the custom chip used in the device on account of its unique design which does not support the requirement for Android TV codecs.

In lieu of the same, we are offering a discount of Rs 1000 on our newly launched Mi Box 4K to all our existing Mi TV 4 55″ customers. Mi Box 4K is a promising solution that offers exciting features such as Android TV experience, Google Assistant and Chromecast Built-in and much more.
