Redmi 9 shows up on official website, expected to launch soon


Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has already introduced Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro smartphones in India, and the Redmi Note 9 made its global debut last week. Now the company is gearing up to launch the Redmi 9 smartphone soon as it had surfaced in RF exposure website. This reveals the model number M2004J19G for the phone. Head SAR of 0.711 W/kg and Body SAR of 1.059 W/kg.

Redmi phone with the model number M2004J19C that got certified by 3C last should also be a version of the Redmi 9 for the Chinese market. This revealed 10w charger for the phone, but it could support 18W fast charging like the Redmi 8. It also got EEC certification with model number M2004J19AG.

Based on earlier rumours the Redmi 9 codenamed Merlin will be powered by MediaTek Helio G80, however new reports say that it will be Helio G70. It also revealed quad rear cameras that includes a 13-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 5-megapixel macro and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The image also reveals a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, similar to the Redmi Note 9.

Earlier rumours also revealed HD+ 6.6-inch DoT notch display compared to the 6.22-inch screen on the Redmi 8, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version, but there should also be 3GB RAM + 32GB storage version. Other details such as camera and battery are unknown, but it will likely retain the 5000mAh battery and USB Type-C port. We should know more details soon.
