OnePlus 8 Pro users report ‘Green Tint’ and ‘Black Crush’ display issues; fix coming soon


OnePlus launched its flagship ‘OnePlus 8′ and ‘OnePlus 8 Pro’ smartphones recently and it is up for sale in the UK and Europe. The first batch of OnePlus 8 Pro devices being delivered to users and already some of the users have started reporting display issues on their units.

Some OnePlus 8 Pro users are reporting ‘Green Tint’ and ‘Black Crush’ display issue on their device and this ‘Green Tint’ issue occurs in low brightness settings. Although turning on DC Dimming option from OnePlus Laboratory seems to fix this issue, but on the other hand, it is also creating ‘Black Crush’ issue on the display.

When a display is plagued with ‘Black Crush’ issue, there will be an inaccuracy in the dark shades displayed and the darker areas will appear pixelated or grainy. Alongside these, users are also reporting image retention issues on their unit.

OnePlus was quick to acknowledge these issues plaguing some of the 8 Pro units and have said that they are investigating the issue. An update will be rolled out soon to fix the ‘Green Tint’ issue and another update in May will fix the ‘Black Crush’ issue plaguing some of the OnePlus 8 Pro units.

The company says that it is ideal for watching sports and action-packed content since MEMC reduces motion blur, stuttering, and ghosting for unmatched clarity.  It has HDR 10+ support, tuned colour accuracy rating of JNCD around 0.4.
