Samsung Smart TVs from 2018 till 2020 to get Apple Music app

It is not very often we see Apple bringing its software services to non-Apple hardware. Apple announced in 2019 that they would be bringing native AirPlay 2 support on select LG and Samsung TVs and now, Samsung has announced that select models of their Smart TV models will be receiving support for the Apple Music app.

One of the first brands to do so, Samsung will bring Apple Music support to all Smart TV models released between 2018-2020, in over 100 countries. The app can be simply downloaded from the Samsung Smart TV App Store, after which users will be prompted to sign via an existing account with their Apple ID, or begin the subscription process right from their TV. As usual, Apple will offer a 3 months free trial with an individual, family or student subscription.

Commenting on the strengthening partnership between Apple and Samsung, Salek Brodsky, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development for Samsung Electronics said:

Our goal has always been to deliver the best entertainment experiences to consumers – and as people spend more time at home, we are more committed to that mission than ever. Last year, we were the first TV manufacturer to offer the Apple TV app, and today, we are the first to offer Apple Music. Our partnership with Apple has been instrumental in bringing consumers an unparalleled lineup of different entertainment options, especially as they seek out more content choices from their Smart TVs.
